Achievements of the Foundation

THE FOUNDATION has been involved in a broad range of services to the Community in Uganda ever since its inception and it is not our intention to document all of them here, but just to cite a few examples:

1. Compliance with the law. We are fully registered and lin ended to operate in Uganda as an indigenous not for profit organization.

2. We own landed property. This includes land at Kirolo and Kawempe donated by the Sheikh Kulumba, and land at Mende donated by Prince Kassim Nakibinge Kakungulu.

3. We, in conjunction with Islamic Center for Education and Research Buziga, completed construction of Sheikh Ali Kulumba mosque at Kawempe, which is one of the property donated to the organization.

4. In the area of poverty alleviation, the Foundation focused on poultry farming. In partnership with Wakiso District Local government, we identified potential poultry farmers whom we trained and donated a hundred one-day old chicks to each farmer as a way of improving household incomes. With this initial push, a number of farmers developed poultry faming and managed to break the vicious circles of poverty. One of our success stories, Ms. Barbra Namanda now has more than 10,000 birds at her farm.

5. In the area of social services, SNKMF has been instrumental in taking care of the sick and elderly. The members of the Foundation regularly visit sick people who rendered excellent services to the community in their earlier lives. The Foundation has extended donations in Kind or in cash whenever we visit them.

6. The Foundation members often take some sick people to hospitals or support some sick people with their medical bills.
